Verse 26 allows a confirmation of the true Biblical calendar when the word "world" is examined: For then must He often have sufferred (in the Old system)since the foundation of the kosmos (created physical world system), but now once in the end of the aeon,(age) hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. There are only two ages, before Christ, and after Christ, which are signatured by the two very different dealings of God with man: the Old Covenant system, and the New Covenant. The first was Old and ready to vanish away, the second eternal. Furthermore, the phrase "end of the kosmos" does not appear anywhere in the Bible, except in the Old Testament in reference to the physical reach of God's word, never in the sense of destruction.
